Artist's Description
Pond cypress form living sculptures along the lakefront. It's a beautiful day as I guide my tiny boat along the lake's shoreline. Previously called Lake Wilmington the lake was renamed Blue Cypress for the reflections of the trees and sky on the water. I felt lucky this day as photography can be a difficult task on the lake. As the Atlantic Coast is only 25 miles from here, the east coast sea breeze contributes to choppy conditions. The area is a popular nesting area for osprey, and one can find dozens of nests around the perimeter. It is abundant with the fish and wildlife the birds need to sustain their offspring. Blue Cypress Lake is the headwaters to the St. Johns River. It is located in Indian River County, Florida.

It became apparent that researching the accomplishments of painters would also be beneficial. Chris began to establish his own style, a fusion of art and...
