I love good science fiction. Some of the best I've read is from Isaac Asimov that was written from the early 1950's through the early 1990's. If you read any of these masterpieces, it soon becomes apparent that he has had a great influence on all of the modern science fiction of today including Star Trek, Star Wars and other movies such as Blade Runner. His work has served as an inspiration for these pieces. The steampunk movement in my mind represents a sort of Jules Verne and Isaac Asimov type alternate reality. A fusion of the wonderful things that were accomplished during the industrial revolution, our modern technological advances, and what the future holds. Science fiction has an eerie way of predicting the future. Modern physics has proven that phenomena such as time travel and multiple dimensions among other things are no longer a fantasy. Food for thought.
Chris was born in southern Delaware in 1960. As a teenager he began studying maps of Florida and dreamed of exploring the state and it’s natural treasures. In the early 1980’s he moved to Central Florida. During his travels throughout the state he discovered the beauty of it’s swamps, prairies, springs, rivers and lakes. This led to an interest in photography and it’s ability to document his adventures. He also developed an interest in astronomy. He studied the work of Ansel Adams and his “zone” system as well as the works of the his colleges in the “f 64 club” of art photographers.
