Description
Jane Green Creek is named for a famous "lady of the night" who frequented cattle camps in this area in the 1870's. Cattleman Mose Barber is credited for naming this beautiful swamp and creek after her. Supposedly she became lost in the area and was never found. The creek and swamp are tributaries to the St. John's River in an area called "The Puzzle", a labyrinth on the border of Osceola and Brevard Counties where many have lost their way. I came across this area while exploring a dirt road called The Wildlife Trail, about three miles from where I parked my car.
